Maria Fenton’s first induction into performing arts was in 1978 at the Elma Lewis School of Fine Arts in Roxbury, Massachusetts. While her ballet instruction was short-lived, the seed was planted. She has written and performed plays and poetry, made short films, produced films and live performances. She has also acted in independent films and staged productions. She is currently an adjunct professor at the Chadwick A. Boseman College of Fine Arts at Howard University and developing her first feature film and ballet.

Maria Fenton has served as costume designer and wardrobe supervisor for dance companies, music videos and short films performed at the Kennedy Center, Howard University’s Ira Aldridge Theater, Atlas Performing Arts Center.
